My Day to Play

I had a great day off today. Jason left to go to Big Bear early this morning so I had a day to play all by myself. Woohoo! First I went and picked up some makeup from my Mary Kay lady....always a good way to start a play day.....I love playing with makeup. After that I went and had lunch with my dear friend Jane. We have been trying to celebrate our birthdays for ever....I told her I was either very early or reeeeally late for hers! We had a yummy lunch at Macaroni Grill. Then I headed home to spend the afternoon scrapping.

Here's a layout I did of the boys today. It is a lift of a very talent scrapper named Ashleigh I found it on her blog...I loved all her attention to details. So I borrowed her design and came up with this layout of the boys. I love this Little Yellow Bicycle paper. It worked so well for a great boy layout.

Now I am trying to decide if I want to scrap another page or not....guess you will have to wait and see. ;-)

Happy Mail!

We were so excited to get a letter from Jeremy yesterday. He is doing great and he truly knows that he is where he is suppose to be. He gets to email us tomorrow so I will be stalking my inbox at least until I go to work. I can hardly wait!

Only a Scrapper

Would have taken this photo....I couldn't help it...it spoke volumns to me. They are so well prepared at the Missionary Training Center....even down to having kleenex handy. At that moment I knew he was in good hands and they would take good care of my son. As silly as it may have seemed I had to take a picture of it....I am sure it will find a place on a scrapbook page some where.

It's Done!

As of about 1:30 day before yesterday, Jeremy is officially a full time missionary. We had a wonderful three days in Utah seeing friends, visiting sights and ending with dropping Jeremy at the Missionary Training Center. I am so proud of him and I miss him so much! I know that will get better with time...for now here are a few pictures from our trip. From top to bottom, the first one is of the three of us at the MTC, the second photo is Jeremy with our friends adorable baby boy. The next photo is the three guys and the last photo is the sunset on Tuesday night. Jeremy and I had fun taking lots of photos out the window of our hotel room....it will be a cherished memory for sure.

Bittersweet

There is simply no other way to describe the past few days. It has been an emotional roller coaster that isn't quite over yet. Jeremy is leaving on his mission. I am absolutely THRILLED that he has chosen to go. I am so PROUD of him and yet the thought of not having him around all the time is just breaking my heart. For the past few days we have been surrounded by friends and family. We have had a blast...but now it's down to the nitty gritty....he goes to the Missionary Training Center on Wednesday. We leave tomorrow morning spend a couple of days together in Salt Lake and Provo and then I will get one last hug and kiss and he will be gone for two years.

I am trying desperately to strengthen myself for having to leave him...but I fear I am going to be a mess on the plane trip home. I think perhaps I now know just a small portion of what his birthmother felt that day she left the hospital empty handed as we adopted him and brought him into our lives. I will be forever grateful to her for the sacrifice she made so that we could start a family.
As we embark on this new phase in our lives I thought I would share a few fun photos from the last few days.

Linda's Visit

It was so awesome to have Linda here to visit. We had a great time being the
"Birthday Princesses"....even with me having to work while she was here. We were still able to get in several scrappy shopping trips. Linda got 20 layouts done (WOW) I managed to get a few done you...so I was happy. This is my favorite one....Linda and I were goofing around for the camera and Jeremy caught the essense of the happiness I was feeling at that moment..........it just makes me smile.
